Happy Birthday to my Hubby!!!

Today is my husband's birthday. And the girls and I got him the most gooey chocolate cake ever (well, besides "death by chocolate" if you know what that is)!! It is choc cake with choc icing and white choc slivers covering the top and sides!!! Oh, I should take a picture! :0) I'll try to do that later.....

The cards for today are ones that I made at the Stampin' Up! Virginia Beach Regional in April also. Both cards use the Double-Line Doodles set (pg 67).

The top two pictures are a 5"x5" card. This is an interesting square card. The bottom layer is More Mustard with Whisper White on top of that. Then the "rays" are strips of paper and pieces of ribbon---fun look and very easy! Next use a metal edge tag (pg 191) and markers (pg 186 as a set or pg166-167 individually) with the direct to stamp technique to make the cute little heart and circles center. Some stamping dimensionals (pg 185) keep your tag in place. Use a 3/4" circle punch (pg 182) to make a spot to attach the Old Olive button (pg 191). The inside uses the Big Deal alphabet (pg 156) to write "Hello". And you can see from the photo that SU! sells square envelopes (pg 169) for your card to fit inside!

The other card is an unusual color combo. It uses Tempting Turquoise, Apricot Appeal and Certainly Celery. I think the combo looks great. I also used a 1 1/4" circle punch (pg 182) and a Tempting Turquoise button with linen thread (both on pg 191). The cute little tag is part of a Tag Sheet found on pg 179. And, of course, a little ribbon (pg 190) and brads (pg 189) round out the card.

I hope these cards inspire your creativity! So, do you like the more in depth card description or is shorter better? I look forward to your comments.

Hi, Amy--

Be sure to wish Bob a Happy Birthday from all of us!! Can I come and eat some cake, too? :)
In my opinion, I like the less lenghty descriptions...less distracting but hey, who am I?

Enjoy your day--
Connie
