Cards from friends

Today I wanted to show you some cards that I have received in the mail from friends. I have been gathering them for awhile, but haven't had a chance to photograph them and upload them with all of my computer troubles! So, without delay, here they are.....

The first card is the yellows and pinks. This card was made by Jennifer K. I can't give proper credit for the sources of scrapbooking paper or the stamp, but I just loved the quilted look of this card!! I hope that you can see from the picture that the "Thanks so much" is rainbow colored and shiny. Just beautiful. So, Jennifer, thanks so much for my card!!

Card #2 was sent to me (okay, really sent to my husband) by Connie, one of my terrific SU! downlines. It is the orange, blue and green card. I just love how her card turned out. She, of course, used SU! products since she's a demo, too. :0) The stamp set she choose is called All Holidays. This is a great word set that covers lots of holiday stamp needs. (If you would like to see this set, check out page 146 of the Spring/Summer SU! catalog.) The beautiful scrapbooking paper is from the Occasions mini catalog and it is called Summer Picnic. If you would like to have any of this paper, order it by June 30th because it will be gone after that!!! (You can check out the Occasions mini online at http://www.stampinup.com/ if you don't have your own copy.) She also used the Striped Grosgrain Ribbon in Pumpkin Pie. Thanks for the card, Connie. Bob and I both enjoyed it! It is so much fun to get a handstamped card in the mail.

And card #3 (the brown and blue one) is from my friend, Elizabeth. She used the Baroque Motifs stamp set (found on page 120 of the Spring/Summer catty). Her colors are Chocolate Chip and Tempting Turquoise. She used random stamping and repetition stamping. This would be a great way to do a one sheet wonder technique with. "What is a one sheet wonder?" you ask. Well, pretty easy really---just start with a full sheet of 8 1/2"x11" neutral card stock. Stamp randomly all over the paper, then cut it up to use for numerous cards. I have a template that you can use to make 9 cards using your stamped sheet plus card bases. If you would be interested in a copy as a Word document, just contact me. Back to Liz's card though, I just love it!! Thanks!

Have a blessed day! I'll try to be back soon.

I may be going to Prince Edward Island this summer with my sister and cousin provided I am well enough to travel. Congrats on all the hits, that's awesome.

So, mochamama (by the way, I love you name!!), you are my winner. I will try to head over to your blog to post a comment there as I didn't see your e-mail address. Please contact me with your mailing info. And by the way, I have wanted to go to Prince Edward Island (and all around that area) for years!!! Ever since seeing Anne of Green Gables. :0)

Thanks to everyone who played for the Blog Candy. I guess my next blog candy will be at about 10,000 hits so keep on coming back to look. In the next few days, I'm planning to start featuring projects using some of the retiring stamp sets (especially those sets that I have that haven't seen ink yet or have only seen a little ink!!).

I just hope that I can find time to stamp between taking my girls to different camps and picking them up. :0) They have a very exciting summer ahead of them.....but as for me, I have lots of driving ahead of me!!

Have a blessed day!!!

I'm back, I'm back!!!

Well, I am finally back! After 3 weeks of having my computer in the shop and a week prior to that having some major computer issues, I have a working computer once again. It's amazing how dependent we can come on these gadgets!

I am so excited, too, to be able to update my blog. And I noticed that I have just gone past 5,000 posts, so I'm going to make up a blog candy package today or tomorrow, and take a picture and start the giveaway. Make sure to check back soon!

Stampin' Up!'s retiring stamp sets list comes out tomorrow so I'll be posting that for you also.

Are you ready for some pictures? Here is a project that I did a few weeks ago that I can finally share with you! I made a little photo album using SU!'s clear envelopes and cardstock. It was so easy and I love how sweet it turned out. I used the sealing strips on the envelopes to hold them together so that I could punch the holes through the envelopes and covers. I just used ribbon to hold my little photo album together. The pictures are of my middle daughter, Meredith, when she was about 2 years old---I won't tell you how many years ago that was!! Now you should try one of these little albums.

I apologize for the blurring last picture, but you get the idea!

Have a blessed day!!
